5th Grade Requirements

Homework This is only an overview. More details will be provided after school starts.

Homework: All homework reinforces previously taught concepts in the classroom. Each Monday, students will receive a homework packet. Homework is due on Friday of the same week. A basic outline of weekly expectations is as follows: -Reading Minutes: Students read at least 20-30 minutes a night for five days a week. -Reading Comprehension: Students read a short story with someone from home and answer several questions. -Math: Approximately one worksheet each night. -Spelling: One spelling activity a night. School Projects All 5th graders are required to participate in the school Science Fair. In addition, students will choose one of the following projects to participate in: Storytelling Festival PTA Reflections Contest Battle of the Books Competition 5th Grade U.S.A. Report
