Why am I at IIUM?

I would not say that I am a meritorious student, but by the blessings of almighty Allah I was able to study in the best academic institutions of Bangladesh at all levels of my education life including secondary to tertiary education. I am really lucky enough that I had an exposure to Islamic economics as a course when I was a student of class nine. I read then a small book on Islamic economics which one surely was not a very rigorous and well decorated book but it shed a light in the kingdom of my thought. Later I had had an opportunity to study Economics at Dhaka University which is the premier academic institution of my country especially for social sciences study. I was dejected when I saw that there is no course on Islamic economics in my department though Bangladesh is the third largest Muslim country of the world. Since then I started searching various materials on Islamic economics and most importantly I was able to get together with some Islamic scholars who in next motivated me to pursue my higher degree in this discipline and uttered repeatedly the name of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as my best choice for fulfilling the goal. I am really in debt to these scholars. My Feelings about IIUM: Well, now I am at this garden of knowledge and virtue. I fell very well here and it is my pleasure to share that every day I am learning a new thing. I am learning not only from teachers but also from fellows, juniors, staffs and environment as well. Already I have discovered here two strong concepts. One is Unity in diversity and other is one ummah. I strongly believe that IIUM is practicing these concepts and spreading all over the world through his graduates. My expectation from IIUM:

IIUM will ensure me a highly paid job is not my expectation. My expectation is very straight that IIUM will teach me how to Islamize the knowledge particularly in the territory of economics which is my area of interest through which I can be an agent of change and lead the movement to Islamize economics especially in my country.
