INTERVAL NOTATION

An interval in the set of Real Numbers is can be expressed in set notation or in interval notation.
x > 3 is an interval
{x , x c R , x > 3} is the set notation; ( 3 , ) is the interval notation
In Interval notation the interval is written as an ordered pair, i.e. 2 numbers in round or square brackets
Inclusive symbols s > take square brackets [ ]
Non-inclusive symbols < > take round brackets ( )
Infinity, , always takes a round bracket
