Overview
Read a self-selected memoir and determine the most important events in the authors life. Create a product that illustrates 12 of the most significant and life-changing events in the authors life.

Objectives
To determine a theme or central idea of a text To cite strong and thorough textual evidence based on the theme.

Activities
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. ___Choose and read a memoir. (1-2 weeks) ___Keep a double entry journal during reading. (What I think/What the text says) ___Determine the 12 most important events in the writers life. ___Create a visual project (website, artists journal/book, i-movie, slide show, comic strip, mobile etc.) that illustrates/freezes these 12 events. Each frame must be a picture. (1-2 weeks) ___Include an introductory or title frame, which consists of the individuals name (bolded and in large print), title of the novel, you name, and date. A quotation from the text must be cited with page numbers. ___The frame following the title frame should be similar to a Table of Contents with the titles for each of the upcoming frames and the frame numbers that correspond. (Think of a CD cover.) ___The last frame (not included in the 12 is a Works Cited page in MLA format. ___Each frame must have a caption/explanation describing the experience being framed and how it impacted the individuals life. ___Oral Presentation-present your final project to the class.
