Dear Parent/Guardian, Your student has been assigned an independent reading project in his/her language arts class.

We expect your student to use silent reading time in 20/20 class and spend time reading at home in order to complete their independent reading. Your student has 5-7 weeks to read the novel he/she chooses and will present his/her project during class; the day your student will present will be assigned. Please find the guidelines and a calendar of due dates below. Please sign at the bottom of the sheet stating that you have seen the guidelines and have your student return the signed portion.

Independent Reading Project

Choose a grade appropriate book within your lexile range. You will have four book projects to complete this year. One per quarter. You will be assigned one activity from the list below per quarter.

Activities for Independent Reading Create a Poster or Glogster-This will be presented in class! Complete a Literary Analysis Notebook Create a Power Point-This will be presented in class! Create a Movie Trailer or Comic Strip.
