What are we up to?

We have continued reading alphabet books (Animals in the Park, Animal Alphabet, Amazing Animals ABC, Astonishing Animals ABC). Letter & sound recognition is such an important skill to strengthen at this time of the year. Thank you for helping reinforce this at home! We also read books about colors (Mouse Paint, Pete the Cat, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear). We made our own shoes like Petes and colored our own Brown Bear reader. We are working on learning how to read and spell the color words. **At home, search for color words in your nightly reading!! In math, we are practicing learning and representing basic shapes (circles, squares, triangles, rhombuses, trapezoids, & hexagons). We also used M&Ms to make a color graph! Yum!!

Curriculum Night is Tuesday at 5:15

This is your opportunity to hear all about what your spectacular child will be doing this year!!!!! I will go through each part of our day to help you understand what your child does each day!

Homework:
I hope your child is excited about doing homework every night! I cannot express to you enough the importance of working and reading with your child every night! Please return the completed calendars at the end of the month.
