Dear Mr. Chainnan:

I am requesting funding for Project Empowennent. The entity to receive funding for this
project is YWCA Greater Los Angeles, located at 3345 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
90010. The funding would be used establishing an intervention program to help increase
self-esteem and empower at-risk girls and women ages 13 to 21 in the community of
South Los Angeles. This multi-faceted program will provide intervention services to
help the young women of our community reach their full potential through education,
mentor and training. The program will provide these young women and girls with a
positive alternative by exposing them to constructive influences such as confidence
building workshops, career coaching, education programs, counseling and case
management, and self-defense classes. I certify that I have no financial interest in this
project.
