Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for Judicial Training, Research & Technical Assistance in fiscal year
2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is:

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges
1041 North Virginia Street
Reno, NV 89503

The funding would be used for to provide courts and system professionals with state-of-the-art
information, training, and research, which will promote improved decision-making and
resources to better serve the needs of children, youth, and families, while ensuring
accountability from them and the systems who serve them. Continuing education, training,
technical assistance and research services are provided to as many as 30,000 judges,
probation officers, attorneys, mental health, detention, child welfare representatives and
others annually.

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Sincerely,
