APOSTROPHES
CONTRACTIONS Used to connect two words (theyre, were, youre, its) Contraction test: To see if a word needs an apostrophe, try splitting it into two words. Ex: Its a shame we wont be able to see the dog wag its tail. It is a shame we wont be able to see the dog wag it is tail. It is works for the first word, so it takes an apostrophe. It is does not work for the second word, so it does not take an apostrophe.
