Geordie Shore is a scripted reality television soap of realism. The television soap on the first series in 2011 only had 631,000 average viewers but has increased massively up to 2013 reaching over 1,038,000 average viewers making it one of the most watched television programmes in the UK. The different locations of each series helps increase viewers as it would be interesting to see them in different situations.

Who is it aimed at?


With consolidated ratings now available, the shows sixth season premiere has seen its audience rise to 1.107 million viewers and 739 000 viewers among 16-34 year olds, which is the target audience for MTV. 16-34 year olds are the demographic viewers of Geordie Shore, making it a hit for the younger generation and they react more with the situations whereas an old person wouldnt think its appropriate. Its also aimed widely at females who are aged 16-24 as its about drama, love and drinking.

What time do they go out?


Geordie Shore shows on the television programme at 11:00 every Tuesday night. Its past the 9:00pm water shed so it is not suitable for anyone who is under 16 years old. They open the show with this programme contains strong language, sexual scenes and references from the outset and throughout which instantly tells the audience if you are not comfortable watching this then turn it off before it begins.

The website has really strong bold colours to make it stand out; the Geordies are not boring so neither can the website. There are rhetorical questions to get the audience involved more. There a multiple hyperlinks to go to different pages for different information. Geordie Shore is in big bold letters and shows the audience theyre in the right place.
