Emily Anthony Circle Classroom Textures Week Week 10 October 23rd-25th Art Activity

This past weeks theme was textures. The goal was for the children to feel different textures such as paper-mache, paint mixed with flower and paint mixed with sand. Maggie and Rada worked together in taking the pieces of newspaper and dipping them into the glue mixture to layer them onto the box. At first Maggie was hesitant about putting her fingers into the glue mixture but she finally dipped her whole hand into the mixture and smiled.

Berenger used his hands to smear the paint mixed with flower onto the box. At first he only put his finger tips in to the mixture. After some time exploring the paint, Berenger fully dipped his hands into the mixture and covered the side of the box with blue paint.

Lucas took both of his hands and dipped them into the purple paint with sand it in. He was not shy when it came to smearing it onto the box. He had a smile on his face and said its cold. He continued to paint with his hands and asked for the orange paint to paint with. He also took both of his hands and clapped them together. I asked him if the paint felt smooth or rough on his hands and he replied rough!
