    Yauhen Shatokhin was a Belarusian painter and political activist. He graduated from art institutes in Orel and Kharkiv. Starting in 1972, he participated in many exhibitions in the USSR, Poland, US, and France. After the USSR dissolved, he joined the Belarusian Artists' Union. In the early 1990s, he became involved in Belarusian politics by joining the Belarusian Popular Front and later the Conservative Christian Party. From 1990 to 1999, he served on the town council of Pinsk, where he was born and died in 2012.
