Chronomics - is the nonverbal study of time.

The way a person treats time reveals something about that person.

CONCEPTS:
1. A person who is consistently late may not be well-organized.
2. The person who is kept waiting may feel that he or she is not highly regarded by the other person.

3. Often, the use of time is connected with status - the higher status the more control we have over our time.

4. In some cultures, time is of less importance, but western business people tend to move by the clock a two oclock appointment usually means two o clock or something within five or ten minutes of it

5. In some cultures, a two o clock appointment may mean three o clock; and if you arrive to transact business at the appointed two o clock hour, you may actually offend the other person.

6. During a job interview, it is usually not a good practice to be too early because this may be interpreted in many different ways: 6. 1 Nothing is keeping you busy; the interview is the only thing in your agenda for the day. 6.2 You need the job badly (hence, they can offer a lower salary and you would accept)

However, it is imperative that you be punctual and not be late.
