Multiple Transponder/Frequency band/ Satellite support using HX platform The HX system default configuration supports single Outbound carrier

and multiple Inbound carriers which are typically commissioned using either a single transponder or multiple transponder. Using single transponder, the Outbound and Inbound carriers of the network is provisioned using space segment available in a single transponder. In case of larger Outbound carrier si e re!uirement, the single Outbound carrier may occupy the entire transponder space where the Inbound carriers can be provisioned using another separate transponder. The default configuration of the HX "ateway system supports the above re!uirement. The HX "ateway provides single I# port for Transmit and single I# port for receive. If the Inbound channels are spread across multiple transponder, the HX system can receive the Inbound carriers spread across multiple transponders using multiple I# receive ports. The I# ports for Transmit and $eceive are derived from Transmit and $eceive subsystem within HX "ateway respectively. #igure %&% illustrates the internal architecture of the HX "ateway system.

HX "ateway architecture can be modified to support the following scenarios. %. 'ultiple Outbound uplink using either single or multiple transponder with single group of Inbound channels (. 'ultiple Outbound uplink and Inbound channels using different beams such as ), *u or *a transponders using the same satellite +. 'ultiple Outbound Uplink, -ownlink using different satellite transponders The architecture for scenario ( . + remains the same as the "ateway system process Outbound signal in a particular beam with associated Inbound channels. The "ateway architecture to support the above scenarios is shown in #igure %&( and %&+.
