Junior Trader Junior Trader Department: Trading and Fixed Income Team Reporting to: Head of Fixed Income

and Trading Location: Luxembourg Our client was set-up in Luxembourg in the nineteen-nineties as a Fund Management Company and is a privately owned Investment Manager. Today, it is a Chapter 16 Management Company with an AIFMD license and is the Asset Manager for two Specialized Investment Funds with Global and Emerging Equities, Fixed Income and Credit, Asset Allocation, Cash and Distressed Debt mandates. The candidate will primarily be responsible for the execution of trades across a range of long only mandates. Instruments traded on a regular basis will include fixed income and equity related products, their associated derivatives, and FX. The candidate will be expected to have the required attention to detail, interpersonal skills, knowledge of instruments and ability to negotiate so as to contribute from day one to the smooth execution and generation of performance for the funds. The individual will operate as a member of the fixed income portfolio management / trading team. Portfolio management skills for fixed income mandates are not a pre requisite, but a desire to learn is. The successful candidate will be expected to have the skill set required to contribute more fully to idea generation, portfolio construction and risk analysis of fixed income portfolios over time. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the investment management or banking industry. A specific knowledge of trading a range of financial instruments is required. Responsibilities include: Trading of fixed income portfolios including government bonds, corporate bonds, covered bonds, futures, IRS, CDS and structured credit (CLOs) Trading of equity linked products including total return swaps, ETFs, futures, listed and OTC equity derivatives Trading of FX hedging and overlay strategies Maintain good broker dealer relationships Ensure good relationship with middle office through timely and accurate processing of trades Desirable Skills: Thorough understanding of various fixed income and equity securities. Ability to execute trades on the major asset classes Understanding of derivative markets and demonstrated expertise in trading synthetics Excellent problem solving skills Mastering Financial Mathematics in Microsoft Excel and proficient use of Bloomberg Qualifications: Master / MSc in Finance, Economics or similar discipline. Candidates must be detail oriented; have excellent English oral, written communication skills and work well under pressure. Progress towards CFA a plus. The candidate must be Luxembourg based.
