    A Valencian professor in 1998 made the amazing claim that water could be used as a substitute for petrol. He said that a car could drive from Bilbao to Valencia using just half a liter of water. His invention uses a molybdenum compound to break water down into hydrogen and oxygen, and unlike other methods, no electricity is required and the reaction occurs at atmospheric temperature. However, since the claims were made, nothing more has been heard about this technology, and there is no explanation for the disappearance of the invention or its inventor anywhere online.
