The population of a country consists of three ethnic groups, A, B and C, which make up 30%, 60% and 10% of the population, respectively. A sample of 80 people includes 21 from group A, 57 from group B and 2 from group C. Is there significant evidence, at the 5% level, that the sample is biased?

2. If a cross-pollination experiment has been performed correctly then of the subsequent plants should have red flowers, should have pink flowers and the remainder should have white flowers. A random sample of 80 plants is found to comprise 4 with red flowers, 40 with pink flowers and 36 with white flowers. Does this provide significant evidence, at the 0.1% level, that the experiment has been performed incorrectly?
