15/08/2011 Reference letter for Mr Grant Sharpe:

It is my pleasure to write this reference in support of Mr Grant Sharpe whom I have been associated with for the past four years in the setting of educational reform in the United Arab Emirates. He was recruited with the inaugural group of advisors in 2007 tasked with the introduction of a new K-12 curriculum. This was a significant challenge given that the task involved implementation of curricula written in English within an Arabic environment. Grant was employed by the Abu Dhabi Education Council. He has been closely involved in schools with enrolments from K-12. After an initial focus in mathematics, Grant proved his versatility by assisting other subjects including Science, English and Arabic. Grant worked significantly in the area of teacher training and professional guidance. He has mentored and facilitated pathways for teachers to adapt and align their practice to more contemporary pedagogy styles. Grant achieved significant success in this regard and earned enormous respect from both local and expatriate teachers. Grants role also involved working with school Principals to support work in the area of school improvement. Grant played an integral role in the development of several successful improvement plans. Principals and school administration personnel always commented favourably about Grants input and his keen sense of professionalism. As one of Grants supervisors I was able to spend time with him in both work-related and social settings. He was highly regarded and well respected by all of our associates. Grant exhibited strong qualities of reliability, trust, honesty and resourcefulness and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to you. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further elaboration.
