Jared Trevino Mrs. Garza English II- 2nd 4/23/2014 My Dream. My whole life I never had an idea of what I wanted to do. I am in the 10th grade and usually people dont know what they want to do in the future. My parents always told me to become a doctor because they make the big bucks and they have an amazing life. I never wanted to be a doctor though because I honestly dont think it would be fun, so it never really interested me. The only reason why I was interested was because of the money. My parents also told me that if you dont like your job dont stick with it. Little did I know that 8th grade year would make me change my thoughts in what I wanted to do in life. Ever since I was little Ive played baseball. Its just always been a part of my life. Every weekend was spent at the baseball field. Baseball was my life. Of course there was school and one year, in the 8th grade, I decided to change schools. I changed from the middle school Bishop Garriga to a school that had just opened called Metro Prepatory School. This school was a fine arts project based school, it was weird, but in that school you had to chose a fine arts class so I chose theater because I didnt know what else to choose. Later in the year I started getting out there, getting out of my shell, and all that good stuff. One day we were playing an improv game. Improv is when you act just at the top of your head, no script. Anyways we were playing the game and it was my turn. When I went up I did my thing and when I was done I looked at my teacher and she was laughing so hard. She said she could see me being a comedic actor. To me

this was weird because I could never see myself being an actor and hearing that made me think that maybe this is something Im good at. Freshman year came and I wasnt really thinking about action or school in general. I decide to stick to baseball my freshman year because it was still a part of my life and I still loved it. Acting was still in my mind but not a priority at all. Freshman year ended, not the best year, although something really great happened that summer though. I asked Kaitlin to be my girlfriend. Kaitlin really is the person that made me pursue acting; she has helped me so much, I cant thank her enough. Now its time for sophomore year and all during the summer I was training for baseball. Right when season was about to start I found out that it was right during the musical. That means I have to chose one, baseball or theater. This was the hardest decision ever especially because I just found out that I really love acting. I loved both with everything. In the end I decided to quit baseball and do the musical. I want to be an actor because I really love it and Im good at it. I changed from baseball to theater and honestly, its so fun. Its so cool just to be whoever you want to be. Recently a casting director came to Corpus saying that shes going to help us out as long as we put the work in. I got my headshot taken already. What a headshot is when you get your photo taken just from the shoulder up and you send it in for that casting director to look at. Of course I still got a lot to learn about acting and I still have a long way to go, but I hope I make it big. I also hope that one day when everything is settled, I get married, have kids, and just have a good time. People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of. Acting is what I dream of and this is a point in my life, and hopefully will stay like that, where I know what I want to do. Im going to do everything that I can to achieve it because I love it with everything I have. Acting, to me, is my personal legend.
