Each week I report to campus with the understanding that some days I might be late because of a
parent conference, IEP meeting or presenting at a school base hearing from my previous job !s normal,
it was a regular day so I reported to the site location and the "ean had just received a call from one of the
professors saying that he would not reporting to work today #ith the short notice, the "ean had to step
in immediately, prep for the course and begin teaching at $:%% pm In the meantime, I took advantage of
the time and work alongside the !ssociate &ampus "ean and underwrote student applications and made
the decision to add, swap and transfer students from on ground to online 'verall, we had ten cases to
process !&", Professor Patil, was new at the assignment and was forthcoming with the information
(ee walked me step by step because this had allowed her an opportunity to repeat what she had learned
in the past )e*t, I transitioned and completed a classroom observation to determine if the instructors
were giving a powerful opening on their first teaching session If teachers provide an interesting
introduction session students will return the following week !ll classes have to provide a benefit to the
students and if they are boring these students will not return and they will give the university a bad
name
+inally, tonight I also learned that the "ean is re,uired to teach at least one course online
-herefore, this particular semester I was assigned to teach three courses online which will be great
because I will have an opportunity to see how both worlds collaborate together "uring the last hour on
site, I spent this time teaching online in my office and keying in new students and.or answering their
re,uests /pon arriving at home I worked another two hours on my personal time responding to the
students ,uestions and providing feedback via the 0lackboard shell
