Insructions for "Calculating Pressure Losses in Tubing -Oil-"

The "Calculation of Pressure Losses in Tubing -Oil-" function is supposed to help designers
calculate pressure losses. The values are calculated for tubing as a function of the flow rate,
length, cross section and viscosity.
The following equation was taken as the basis.

Turbulence is not be expected in the tubing in the case of oil and with the flow rates customary
in
lubrication systems. So this calculation assumes a laminar flow.

This program provides the following possibilities:
1.
Calculating the total pressure loss within a system of lines.
You can determine the total pressure loss in a string of tubing with various diameters.
To do so, store the intermediate results (press the Register[number] button) and
calculate the total result at the end. Press the "Total" button to do so.

2.
Varying parameters to optimize a system of lines.
You can calculate pressure losses using different parameters for the flow rate, internal tubing
diameter, viscosity and tubing length, and then store the results for comparison.

With both variants you can determine the unit of pressure loss. By clicking the [MPa] or [bars]
button you can specify whether the units are to be expressed in MPa or in bars.

Dp = pressure loss [Mpa(bar)]
v = viskosity of the oil (mm/s)
Q = flow rate (l/min)
d = internal tubing diameter (mm)

The constant 0,61 was based on an oil
viscosity of 0,88 g/cm .
