Industry’s Fastest UART Series with USB 2.0

Compliant Bus Interface
The XR21V1410 (V1410), XR21V1412 (V1412), and XR21V1414 (V1414) are enhanced 1-channel, 2-channel and 4-channel Universal Asynchronous
Receiver and Transmitter (UART) with a USB interface. The USB interface is fully compliant to Full Speed USB 2.0 specification that supports 12
Mbps USB data transfer rate.

The USB interface also supports USB suspend, resume and remote wakeup operations. The V141x operates from an internal 48MHz clock
therefore no external crystal/oscillator is required like previous generation UARTs. With the fractional baud rate generator, any baud rate can
accurately be generated using the internal 48MHz clock. The large 128-byte TX FIFO and 384-byte RX FIFO of the V141x helps to optimize the
overall data throughput for various applications. The Automatic Transceiver Direction control feature simplifies both the hardware and software
for half-duplex RS-485 applications. The multidrop (9-bit) mode with automatic half-duplex transceiver control feature further simplifies typical
multidrop RS-485 applications.

The V141x operates from a single 2.97 to 3.63 volt power supply and has 5V tolerant inputs. Virtual COM port drivers for Windows 2000, XP, Vista,
and CE, as well as Linux and Mac are supported for the XR21V1410, XR21V1412 and XR21V1414.

Retimer Solutions for PCIe Signals

across Backplanes and Cables
Extend the reach of PCI Express®
PCIe signals running at 2.5Gb/s, 5.0Gb/s and 8.0Gb/s (Gen1, Gen2 and Gen3 respectively) impose tight constraints on systems
and PCB design. Generally speaking, the higher the data rate the shorter the distance a good quality signal can be transmitted. To
compensate for signal attenuation loss and allow trace lengths to be extended, signal conditioning is required in the data path to
adjust signal levels using equalization and de-emphasis techniques. This is where PCIe re-drivers and retimers play an integral part of
any system utilizing PCIe data transport across cables and backplanes. Even at Gen1 data rates today, going beyond 18 inches of
backplane traces becomes very challenging and at Gen2 data rates these re-drivers/retimers become a must.

Gennum’s PCIe Redrivers/Retimers – GN1406 & GN1407 Key Features

STM32 Connectivity Line

Microcontrollers
32-bit microcontroller with USB OTG, Ethernet
with IEEE 1588, dual CAN, audio class I²S
The STM32 Connectivity Line is the latest addition to the highly successful STM32 Family of ARM® Cortex™-M3
powered MCUs, adding support for high performance industry standard interfaces while maintaining pin-and-
software compatibility with other STM32 Product Lines.
Superior connectivity: Ethernet with IEEE 1588, USB OTG and dual CAN
The STM32 Connectivity line makes networking economical as a result of an embedded Ethernet MAC with
a dedicated DMA controller. The IEEE 1588 precision time protocol hardware support provides accurate clock
synchronization over the network and retains ample CPU bandwidth to implement an embedded application.
USB 2.0 OTG makes the STM32 Connectivity line a turnkey solution to add a USB device, host or OTG function to
a product. Firmware upgrades in the field, data logging or data storage are now as easy as connecting a standard
USB mass storage device to the STM32. Adding a USB keyboard, mouse or any other device is just as easy.
The dual CAN 2.0B makes the STM32 Connectivity Line a turnkey solution to implement a CAN gateway. Also since dual CAN and USB peripherals can be used
simultaneously, the STM32 is the perfect fit to connect a computer or USB device to CAN networks.
The combination of advanced, connectivity-oriented peripherals, standard STM32 peripherals including a PWM timer, and the high processing performance of the
32-bit ARM Cortex-M3™ CPU also allow developers to consolidate multiple functions such as motor-control, user-interface control and connectivity features in
equipment such as domestic appliances, building controls or industrial automation. Other applications will include systems requiring network accessibility, data-
logging, or USB peripheral extension, such as patient monitors, point-of-sale terminals, vending machines, and safety or security systems

Features
 10/100 Ethernet MAC with embedded DMA
and IEEE 1588 hardware support
 Ethernet PHY connectable using MII and RMII
interfaces
 USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) full speed with

 Dual CAN 2.0B active
 Dedicated buffers for USB OTG and dual CAN
peripherals
 Advanced PLL block to clock both I²S
peripherals
 Flexible bootloader supporting USART, CAN
and USB device firmware upgrade (DFU) class

LDS6100 / 6120 - PureTouch™
Capacitance Touch IC Family with
S ens or s

Integrated LED Drivers

Empower system designers to create
streamlined, attractive and reliable product
designs with capacitive touch controls.
The LDS6100/6120 family of capacitance touch controllers is optimized for the implementation of touch-based input controls including
sliders, scroll wheels and buttons. A low power programmable capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC) supports up to 20 sensor inputs,
10 of which may be configured as direct communication mode (DCM) outputs that emulate mechanical buttons, enabling streamlined
communication of touch events without the need to query the serial interface bus.

When configured for capacitive sensing, the touch inputs are directed through an integrated switch matrix to a 500 kHz sigma-delta CDC
which senses changes in the external sensor array. When a sufficiently large change in capacitance occurs, a touch event is registered
and the host processor is notified via an interrupt pin or DCM output. On the LDS6120 products, a variety of built-in LED lighting effects
may be automatically initiated by a touch event with no processor intervention required.

On-chip calibration logic continuously monitors the environment and automatically adjusts touch sensitivity to insure robust performance.
Proprietary noise-filtering algorithms may also be activated to prevent false sensor activation in noisy system environments. The
LDS6100/6120 family is offered with SPI-compatible, I2C-compatible and SMBus-compatible interfaces, selectable in real-time using
the I/F select pins. General-purpose input/output (GPIO) and interrupt outputs are also provided for additional communication with the
host processor.
