inefcient HVAC system as part of a large expansion to an ofce building in Charlotte, North Carolina. THE CHALLENGE The existing HVAC system, with the exception of the central plant, for the entire facility needed to be replaced with a new system in just 12 weeks. The rebuild included new terminal units, water-cooled AC units, split system units, exhaust fans, air distribution, ductwork and piping for more than 200,000 square feet of space. THE SOLUTION McKenneys reassessed and reassigned key personnel weekly to optimize available resources. The crews dismantled and replaced the old HVAC system, relocating 25 terminal units, adding 262 new terminal units and installing 13 fan coil units, one split system unit, 60 re dampers and an exhaust fan. They also installed supporting ducting, pipework and air distribution. The team followed LEED procedures during constructioncleaning and storing materials correctly with proper documentation. THE RESULTS The HVAC installation was completed on time and the general contractor and owners were impressed with McKenneys quality, production, efciency and workmanship.
