oncological conditions.

an active and valued member of

knowledge and skills and be at
ease in asking for assistance
from other members of staff.

appreciation of disease,
morbidity and mortality in the
context of developing countries.

AIMS AND
OBJECTIVES:
PERSONAL
•Be able to take a full medical
history and perform a clinical
examination in Spanish.
• Subsequently present these
findings and discuss patient
management with a senior
member of staff in Spanish.
• Only speak Spanish during my
time abroad to fully immerse
self in the language and gain a
greater appreciation of the local
cultures.
• Return to the UK with a
greater understanding and
fluent command of the Spanish
language.
• To be able to conduct clinical
duties in both English and
Spanish.
• Reflect upon the differences
between the NHS and health
systems in Central America.
