Week Of: May 26

Responsibilities: During my first week of my internship, I was introduced and educated on all of the
clients that LRA manages. My first task was to look up info for Jim Skinner, who is one of the Navy
Memorial honorees for the Lone Sailor Award 2014. After conducting research on his career, I was
responsible for drafting his bio for the award ceremony booklet.
Week of: June 2

Responsibilities: During my second week I was responsible for drafting the press release announcing Jim
Skinner as one of the three honorees for the 2014 Lone Sailor Award. I also assisted in doing the social
media updates for some of the restaurants that LRA handles. This involved tracking each restaurants
social media growth for that month.
Week of June 9

Responsibilities: I continued my work for the lone sailor awards honorees, however my progress was
halted since they did not announce the other nominees yet. In lieu of that I assisted another publicist on
a promotion involving capitol city bike share. For this promotion I created a map to locate the proximity
of capitol city bike share stations to many of the LRA clients. During this promotion patrons who use a
capitol city bike to will get some sort of discount on food or drink.
Week of June 17
th

Responsibilities: During this week I created a TV segment pitch for the chef of Vinifera to appear on one
of the DC morning shows, to do a grilling with the chef segment. During this week I also created a
promotions and marketing plan for the opening of the silver line metro rail and Harth restaurant in
Tyson Corner. On Sunday of this week, I attended the RAMMYs to assist the photographer in order to
create a RAMMYs look book.
Week of June 24
th

Responsibilities: During this week I worked the 2014 Rammy awards. At this event I was responsible for
working the red carpet as the photographers assistant. I was also responsible for walking the award
winners to the winners circle for press, pictures and interviews.
Week of July 1
st

Responsibilities: I was given the responsibility of doing the press clippings for after the Rammy awards. I
was also responsible for matching the captions to the pictures taken by the on sight photographer at the
awards dinner.
Week of July 8
th

I was responsible for drafting a press release for Chuys which a Texas- based chain Mexican food
restaurant. The restaurant is opening their second restaurant in the Washington Metropolitan area,
which will be located in Fairfax, Virginia. I was also responsible for doijg the Web.20, social media
analytics for the Clover Food Group restaurants.
Week of July 15
th

I was responsible for drafting a press release for the second honoree announced for the Navy
Memorials Lone Sailor Awards. The honoree will be Robert Stevens, who is the Chief Executive and
former CEO of Lockheed Martin. I was also responsible for creating the media list to announce his
acceptance as an honoree.
Week of July 22
st

I was responsible for continuing my work on the Navy Memorial Lone Sailor Awards. The black tie gala
will be held on September 17
th
National Building Museum located at 401 F Street NW, Washington, D.C.
The Lone Sailor Award is given to Sea Service veterans who have excelled with distinction in their
perspective civilian careers while exemplifying the Navy core values of Honor, Courage, and
Commitment.
