Load Distribution 1q 2014-15

The document describes a floor framing plan for a library reading room with a 120mm thick concrete slab supporting 22mm hardwood flooring and 10mm gypsum ceiling. It includes details on the 3.6m high masonry wall, 300x550mm concrete beams and girder, and 450x450mm concrete columns. It asks to determine the governing service and ultimate loads in kN/m on specific structural elements.

LOAD DISTRIBUTION

A typical floor framing plan shown has a 120mm floor slab. The slab carries flooring made up of 22mm hardwood flooring,
a ceiling made up of 10mm thick gypsum board, and minimum mechanical-electrical utilities. The said floor is intended for
reading room in a library. The girder has a 3.6 m high masonry wall that is 150mm thick, fully grouted and plastered on the
both exterior and interior face of the wall. All beams and girder has a dimension of 300mm by 550mm concrete. All
columns have a dimension of 450mm by 450mm concrete.
a. Determine the governing service load and governing ultimate load in kN/m acting on the beam between grid A
and grid B
b. Determine the governing service load and governing ultimate load in kN/m acting on the girder along grid B
c. Determine the governing service load and governing ultimate load in kN/m acting on the girder along grid 1.
d. Determine the governing service load and governing ultimate load in kN/m acting on the girder along grid 2
