Commercial Real Estate Firm, Mack-Cali, Awarded LEED Gold Certification for
their Parsippany, New Jersey Property After Commissioning Services Provided
by M&E Engineers
NEW YORK, NY JUNE 7, 2014 The US Green Building Council awarded MackCali Realty with LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operation &
Maintenance for their 5 Wood Hollow Road facility in Parsippany, New Jersey.
This is the thirteenth commercial property to be so awarded in New Jersey.
Gerard Hazel, Commissioning Agent for M&E Engineers provided consulting
services which helped the Mack-Cali property to achieve this designation.
The Operations & Maintenance (O+M) designation is unique in that it is the
only LEED rating system that can demonstrate actual energy efficiency.
Focused on the chemical use, recycling, system upgrades, and maintenance,
the Wood Hollow facility upgrades include the elimination of all potable water
use in lawn care, low flow water fixtures, eco-friendly cleaning and
maintenance products, a targeted recycling program, and the reduction of
parking lot lighting.
Mr. Hazel has been a sustainability consultant for many Mack-Cali Realty
projects in New Jersey.
