What is a special product?
A special product is a
mathematical term in which
factors are combined to form
products.
Types of Special Products
a. Square of a Binomial
b. Product of Sum and Difference of Two
Binomials
c. Square of a Trinomial
d. Product of Two Binomials

The first and last terms are perfect squares.
The middle term is twice the product of the square
root of the first and last terms.
The sign of the middle term depends on the sign of
the binomial.

The sign of the product is always negative because
the factors have unlike signs.

second term.
The fifth term of the product is twice the product of the first and

first terms of the binomials.
The middle term of the product is the sum of the
products of the outer and inner terms of the
binomials.
The last term of the product is the product of the
last terms of the binomials.
