What We Are Learning in Class

This week the fourth grade students are delving deeper into ecosystems
studies into adaptations. Tuesday through Thursday they will rotate
through science centers that will give them a deeper understanding of
different types of plant and animal adaptations.
Essential Question (EQ): What are plant and animal adaptations?
I can: identify animal adaptations and classify the as behavioral or
physical.
Homework: Tues. Lesson 9.1 & worksheet; Thurs. Lesson 9.2 & 9.3 & w.s
The fourth grade students will be completing a semester project that will
count as a grade in both their ELA and science classes as a project grade
(15%). Handouts, including rubric, are forth coming.
If your student does not have a binder for each class, it is highly
recommended to help their organization skills with their new transition to
departmentalized classes (switching classes). I also recommend investing
in a package of sheet protectors to keep their student report forms from
tearing each week.
In Reading the students focused on using context clues. Context clues help
them to find the meaning of words that they might not have known. In
