October brings us some cooler weather as the leaves are changing
beautiful colors and soon the kids will be trick or treating. The new fiscal year has also started with new goals and opportunities. Set your goals high as we look to start the new fiscal year on a good note. The store ended the year closing the gap down -5% on lost sales due to the Hannaford opening this past summer. That is a great number in such a short time and a reflection of your hard work and dedication to the refresh program and a commitment to improved standards and great customer service! I can see us changing the sales trend to a positive number by the holidays, again a reflection of your dedication and professionalism as no one wants a competitor taking sales or our customers away from us! Great effort by everyone. Thank you again! And as we all know in our ever changing environment we said goodbye to Allan Moore in September after 40 years of dedicated service to the company and 20 years in Montgomery. We wish Allan all the best in his retirement years. His dedication and customer service will be missed. Also leaving us this past month was Patricia Arnold from Shop at Home, Nino Etienne from Produce and Jamie Thorpe from Appy. Patty leaves us after years of dedication and heads back to Vails Gate where it all started for her. Nino we get to congratulate on his promotion to Produce manager in Ellenville! Way to go Nino, and Jamie gets what we all would love, to get closer to home and with his new opportunity in the Appy department he be joining Nino in Ellenville. Thanks for all your efforts and we wish you well in your new store and positions.
