Objective:
To design a chemical reaction which generates energy (in form of pressure) enough to blow a
cork .
Description:
The Team has to design a reaction to be done in a test tube which produces sufficient amount
of pressure to blow of the cork. The team which covers maximum horizontal distance will be
the winner

Team details:
The team will consists of maximum three members
The team members can be from diff streams or colleges

Rules:
The Team has to prior inform us prior regarding the chemicals they need.
The explosion should be carried out in a controlled manner.
The team has to carry reactions with using mild acids and other mild reactive
elements .
The gases produced during the reaction should be non-Toxic
The reaction should not harm the organizers or the participants standing nearby by
any means.
The chemicals should not spill out of the pet bottle.
The organizers of the competition have the right to change any rule on the spot
depending upon situation.

Details of firing equipment:

The pet bottle should be of size 500-600ml.
The diameter of the pet bottle & cork should be same.
Max weight of the cork should be around gms.
The firing angle will be same for all the teams and decided by the organizers on the
day of the event

Judging criteria:
Every team will be given only 3 attempts.
Best out of the three attempts will be evaluated.
The team whos cork travels the maximum distance will be declared as the winner.
In case there is a tie between two team both teams will be given a tie breaker attempt
The decision taken by the organizing team will be final.

Prizes:
Prizes worth Rs. 5000 will be given to the winning team.
All the members of the winning team will be given Certificate of Excellence
