RULE BOOK FOR VYOM 2020

(Theme: Save Environment, Go Green)

Sports Events
Event: Cricket
Rules and Regulations –

1. Maximum 12 players (11+1 Extra) are allowed in each team. Once you give 12 players name, you can not
change the players between tournaments.

2. League match 8 over per sides. (Each bowler bowls maximum 2 overs in match)

3. Final match 10 over per sides. (Only 1 bowler bowls 3 overs and other bowler bowls 2 over maximum in
match)

4. All matches are knockout in nature.

5. Umpire decision is last and final decision.

6. Players should come in proper uniform for the match.

7. Fixture will be provided on the day of event.

Event: Gully Cricket


Rules and Regulations -

1. For each team, 7+1 extra = 8 players are allowed.

2. League match are of 7 over per sides.

3. One tip one hand out.

4. Hit over the boundary without touch is out.

5. Final match 9 over per side.


Event: Tug of War
Rules:

1. According to the rule of tug of war, each team can accommodate 10 members.

2. Each competition will be a best-out-of-3.

3. There is a particular technique that needs to be applied while playing this game, if not then there will be a
foul which can call in for disqualifications.

4. After each pull, teams will change sides.

5. A 15 minute time limit will be set for each game.

6. Winning team advance to the next round.

7. Teams will have 2 minutes between each competition to prepare themselves for the next pull.

8. No jewelry of any kind will be permitted during the competition. This rule applies to both boys team and girls
team.

9. Any Tug of War team showing misconduct or unsportsmanlike behavior may be disqualified from
competition by the Judges.

Event: Football
Rules:

1.Number of players allowed per team = 7 + 3 Extra = 10.

Rules and Regulations -

1. Maximum 10 players (7+3) are allowed in each team. Once you give 10 players name, you cannot change the
players between tournament.

2. League match would be of 15 minutes per half and final match 20 minutes per half.

3. If any match will tie then 5 minutes extra time will be given, and if again match will tie then penalty suit will
apply.

4. All matches are knockout in nature.

5. Referee decision is last and final decision.

6. Fixture will be provided on the day of event.


Event: Kabaddi
Rules:

1. No of players allowed per team = 7 + 5 (extra) = 12

2. The decision of Referee would be Final.

3. All should come in proper gear.

4. Fixture will be provided on the day of event.

5. All matches are knockout in nature.

Event: Chess
Rules and Regulations -

1. It must be the king’s first move. Once the king moves, you lose your ability to castle.

2. It must be the rook's first move. Once the rook moves, you lose your ability to castle on that side.

3. You cannot castle while in check.

4. You cannot castle into check.

5. You cannot castle through check.

Event: Carrom
Rules:

Number of players allowed in a team = 2

Rules and Regulations:

1. It doesn't matter which piece the striker hits first and it doesn't matter if the striker hits no pieces.

2. If a striker pockets the Queen and/or one or more pieces of his/ her own colour, the player retrieves the striker
and takes another strike.

3. If the player pockets no pieces or commits a foul, the turn finishes.

4. Pieces returned to the centre can be placed on top of other pieces within the main circle
Event: Race (100 m)
RULES AND REGULATION:

1. In these events the commands of the starter shall be “on your marks”, “set”, and when all competitors are
steady, the whistle shall be blown.

2. In all races run in lanes, each competitor shall keep within his/her allocated lane from start to finish.

3. The finish line is a white line, 5 centimeters wide, that runs perpendicular to the lane lines. When any part of
the runner & body crosses the front plane of the finish line, that runner has finished the race. After the runners
complete the race, they are ranked by the order in which they crossed the finish line.

Event: Volleyball
Number of players allowed per team = 6 + 5 Extra = 11

Scoring:

A match would be a best of 3 sets where the first team to win 3 sets wins the match.

Volleyball Faults:

There are several ways to fault and lose the point. Here are some examples:

Hitting the volleyball illegally - you must strike the ball in a manner such that you don't hold the ball or palm,
carry, or throw it.

Stepping over or on the line while serving

Not hitting the ball over the net

Touching the net

Reaching under the net and interfering with a player or the ball

Not serving in the correct order

Hitting the volleyball out of bounds

Double hitting - when the same player hits the ball twice in a row

Hitting the ball more than 3 times.

Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Events
Event: Painting and sketching competition
Rules and Regulations -
1. Minimum size of drawing sheet must be A3 size (297*420mm) or A2 size (420*594 mm)
2. Acceptable tools for drawing/painting include pencil (no mechanical pencil is allowed), water colour, oil
paint
3. Painting/ sketching must be theme oriented (Theme: save environment, Go green)

Event Name – Rangoli


Rules:

1. Only solo (single) participation is allowed.

2. Rangoli art should be of 4ft × 4ft.

3. Use only sand colours (No stones, grains, flowers).

4. Participants will be responsible for arrangement of the material required.

Event: FIRELESS COOKING


THEME: PURE VEG COMBO SNACK PLATTER (Salty dish, Sweet Dish & Mock tail)

Rules:

Number of participants allowed per team: Minimum 2, Maximum 4.

Bring precooked ingredients. Assemble and arrange dishes on the venue

All the ingredients of the ready to serve dish should be in edible form

Event: COOKING WITH FIRE


Rules:

Number of participants allowed per team: Minimum 2, Maximum 4.

Bring personal gas stove &cylinder/ Induction heater, Cookware, Ingredients

Final display of Dishes using proper Crockery & Cutlery

NOTE: Wear an Apron. Judgment will be done on the basis of Innovation, Taste & Presentation.
Event: Speech Competition (English and Hindi)
Rules:
1. Topic for English: 'Real wealth is never measured in terms of money or possessions'

Topic for Hindi: असली संऩत्ति को धन और औहदे से नहीं माऩा जा सकता

2. Time limit: 2 minutes


3. Use of proverbs is mandatory.

Event: English and Hindi Essay writing competition


Rules for Essay Writing:
1. Topic for English:Cultural Transformation in 21st Century

Topic for Hindi: २१ वी सदी में आए सांस्कृततक ऩररवततन

2. Word limit: 300 words.


3. Time limit 40 minutes.

Event: Photography competition


Rules for Photography
1. All the participants should take their photos according to theme.
2. Participants should mail their five best photos to mail ID: subirmazumdar025@gmail.com
Or they can send Google drive Link (if photos size is large)

Event: Tiktok Video Competition
Rules:
Number of participants allowed per team: Minimum 2, Maximum 4.

*Rules for tiktok:
1. All the participants should shoot their videos according to theme.
2. Participants should shoot their video on your own name tiktok I'd.
3. Participants should have sent their video with Team Name (Prithvi, Agni, Jal, Vayu, Aakash), Name of
student, college, course, branch, semester/year, Email ID and DOB in given mail I'd.
4. Video quality should be good & duration of video around 1:00-1:30 minutes.
5. Participants should send their video's on before 4/3/2020 time 1:30 pm. After this time videos should not be
allowed.
7. Other video app should not be allowed only tiktok app video is allowed.

Event: T-shirt painting competition


Rules:
1. T-shirt should be plain of any color
2. Readymade sticker and logos are not allowed
3. Fabric paint should be used for painting
4. Painting should be according to theme only
5. Students bring their T-shirt for competition
Event: Entrepreneurship Food and Gaming Stalls
Rules:
Number of participants allowed per team: Minimum 2, Maximum 5.

1. This competition is in two separate categories:


(A) Food Stalls
(B) Gaming Stalls
2. For a single stall in any category (food/gaming), maximum 5 students can register which is free of cost. Only
any one member of the team can do registration for the team.
The team members for a stall can be from any branch, semester/year and courses of REC, RCET & KDRCST.
3. The registration has to be done prior the event. Only registered students will be permitted to have a stall.
4. The participants will be provided one 2×8 table and electricity supply at their stall (if required). Rest all, the
participants have to arrange.
5. All the transactions/purchase from a stall will be through Rungta Dollars which the customers can purchase at
the venue during Vyom by exchanging rupees of various denominations like Rs 5, 10 & 20.
6. Two most selling teams for both *Food Stalls* & *Gaming stalls* separately will be awarded during Vyom.
7. The teams will get back their money earned in Rupees after Vyom is over by exchanging Rungta Dollars
earned by them during Vyom.
8. 10 % of the total earning of a team will be deducted while exchanging Rupees for Dollars. The deducted
money will be the revenue of Entrepreneurship Cell.
Cultural Events
Event: Solo and Group Song Competition
Rules:
1. Decency in song should be maintained.
2. Group song should have minimum 2 and maximum 8 participants
3. Participants will bring their own arrangements for karaoke or any music instrument.
4 Participants should bring a single item in PD.
5 Time for solo song maximum 3 minutes
6 For group song 3-6 minutes.

Event: Solo and Group Dance Competition


Rules:
1. Decency in Dance should be maintained.
2. Group Dance should have minimum 2 and maximum 8 participants
3. Participants will bring their Song for Dance competition.
4. Participants should bring their single item in PD
5. Time for Solo Dance maximum 3 minutes
6 For group Dance 3-6 minutes.
