Perkins Resource Fair and Open House on October
16th. We look forward to seeing you at all of the
future events that will be happening at the
Perkins. You and your child make the Michael J.
Perkins School The Best School in Boston!

Parent Power Hour

Tuesday, November 4th 7:30-8:30 am
In Mr. Martins office
We will hold School Site Council Elections during
the Parent Power Hour. Parents can sign up to
help the SSC with fundraising, volunteering in and
out of your childs classroom, planning
events/activities around the school. For more

Halloween in the Classrooms:

Teachers will notify you of their Halloween
Plans for their individual classroom. Parents, be
mindful that the children have to use the stairs.
Make sure that if your child is allowed to wear a
costume, that it is not too long.

School Site Council

Parents will have an opportunity to meet with Mr.
Martin and have a friendly discussion about the
things that are happening at the Perkins. Parents
will be able to share thoughts and ideas for school
year 2014-2015. If you are interested in becoming
a member of the SSC, please fil out the form on
the back of this newsletter and send it back to the
schools Main Office.

Thursday, December 11, from 4-6 pm

We will be hosting Men and Women in Uniform

here at the Perkins. We have invited members
from the Boston Police, ROTC, Sailors from the
USS Constitution, EMS and Boston S.W.A.T. to be
Guest Readers in the classrooms. They will be
here from 9:30 -11:00am. They will read to the
students and then they will hold a Q & A about
the uniforms and the jobs. This event is
sponsored by Scholastics. They will be videotaping
the following classrooms: Ms. Hicks, Ms. Breneus,
Ms. Leverett-King and Ms. Murphy.

November 15th Parent PARCC Training
10 am -12 noon *with lunch and childcare
provided* more info coming soon
Picture Day: November 25, 2014
(Students DO NOT have to wear their
uniform for this Picture Day).
Early Release on Wednesday, November
26 and there is NO school on November 27
& 28 for Thanksgiving Day Holiday.
