1 WEEK BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:

Stop all medicines causing constipation (Codeine), diarrhea ( Lactulose, Duphalac)

Blood thinners ( warfarin , aspirin, plavix)
Pain killers (Brufen, Cataflam) and iron supplements one week before examination.

1 DAY BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

Stop all solid foods.

Take clear fluids including soups, juices, carbonated drinks, caramel and jellies (avoid purple jellies)
It is necessary to drink adequate amount of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Start taking 4 (four) prescribed bowel cleansing sachets (PICOPREP) in the following manner.
o
Mix one PICOPREP sachet in a 250ml of water and stir it well till the powder dissolves.
o
Patient should drink this solution completely each at 10:00 morning
12:00 noon
04:00 afternoon
08:00 evening
