Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact

Rationale/Reflection

InTASC Standard: #2 Learning Differences. The teacher uses understanding of individual

differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that
enable each learner to meet high standards

Brief Description of Evidence: In spring 2013 in my EDUC 210 Planning for the Elementary
Education Classroom, I created a logo working with several other students that describe learning
differences. This does not contain all learning differences by any means but it is a good start in
understanding the basic differences and basic categories.

Analysis of What I Learned: I have learned there are many differences that come into any
environment where people gather together. All of our differences make us each special and if we
can all be receptive and respect each other, everyone has both something to learn and teach
others.

By understanding these differences as a teacher I will be able to

ensure that every student has the best playing field to receive the best education possible, by
understanding that there are a multitude of things that I can do to ensure that all learners can
teach others in areas that they excel in and learn from peers when appropriate.
