touched many lives in the USD community. Wayne Moose Merrigan was gentle giant with a heart to
match his legendary handshake who was a friend to the USD program for many years. We extend our

Ladies and gentlemen, the USD Athletic Department would like to take a moment to recognize the 2014
inductees into the Henry Heider Coyote Sports Hall of Fame. The 2014 class was inducted earlier today
at a ceremony held at the Muenster University Center on campus. Lets meet the class.
(Cue Justin Devlin graphics on a pro-ad and videoboard)
-Justin Devlin is a 12-time All-American swimmer who led the Coyotes to two NCC titles, four top-11
finishes at nationals and became the programs first national champion in 2000 when he won the 200
yard breaststroke. He led the Coyotes to a 3rd place finish at Nationals in 1999 which is the top placing
in program history. His national championship breast stroke time remains a USD record. A medical
school graduate, Devlin currently works for Emergency Profession Services in Phoenix, Arizona.

-Mandy Koupal is perhaps the most accomplished basketball player in Coyote history. She was the
National Division II Player of the year twice, in 2003 and 2004, a three time All-American, and the only
player in NCC history to win three consecutive NCC Most Valuable Player awards. Koupal holds the
program record for career points with 2,496 despite playing just three seasons. She is the NCC all-time
leader in points scored and rebounds. After a coaching career that included stops at USD and Colorado
State, she has returned to her hometown of Wagner, SD to teach and coach.

-Molly Radigan (maiden name Wedel) is the first female student-athlete at USD to earn All-America
honors in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track in the same year. Radigan was a 12-time AllAmerican at USD who won the 2003 outdoor national championship in the 10K, and was a national
runner up three times. Radigan and her husband, Todd, have two daughters, Maya Jane and Callie. The
couple owns Maya Janes and Main Street Pub in downtown Vermillion.

-Ben Ries scored 1,252 points in his Coyote career, helping USD to back-to-back NCC Championships in
1999 and 2000. Ries earned all-NCC honors following his senior season and was a three-time academic
all-NCC honoree. Ries and his wife Amy have three kids, Carly, JJ and Chelsea and reside in Norfolk,
Nebraska where Ries teaches and is the head coach of the Norfolk High School basketball team.

-Josh Stamer recorded 152 tackles and 15.5 sacks in three seasons for the USD football team, and was a
two time All-NCC selection.. Stamer went on to play six seasons in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and
Tennessee Titans. Stamer and his wife Jessica have a son, Maximus, and reside in Raleigh North Carolina
where Stamer is a program manager at Lenovo, the worldwide leader in personal computers.

-Nate Tibbets is the all-time assists leader in the history of the North Central Conference. From 1999 to
2001 Tibbets led the Coyotes to three straight NCC Titles. He is second on USDs all-time assists and
steals list. Tibbetts and his wife, Lyndsay, reside in Portland where Tibbetts currently serves and an
assistant coach for the NBAs Portland Trailblazers.

-The USD volleyball team opens up Summit League play next weekend in the Coyote Den at the Dakota
Dome. The Yotes host North Dakota State at 7pm, Friday, September 26th and Oral Roberts at 1pm,
Sunday, September 28th. Arrive early because seating in the Den is limited.
-The USD Golf team will be hosting the South Dakota Coyote Classic at the Dakota Dunes September 29th
and 30th all day.
-USD Soccer opens its Summit League campaign at the USD Soccer Complex on Friday, October 3 at 4pm
against Omaha. They return to the complex the following Sunday, October 5 at 1pm to take on Fort
Wayne.
-The Coyote swim team opens its home season on Friday, October 10 against Minnesota State at 5pm.
-And the USD football team hosts UNI on D-Days, October 11th at 3pm at the DakotaDome.

OVERTIME (If Necessary)

Attention Fans. N-C-A-A tie-breaker rules will apply as a result of todays tie score.
Team captains will report to mid-field for a coin toss. The winner of the toss may select to be on either
offense or defense.
An overtime period consists of two series, one by each team beginning on the designated 25 yard line.
Each team retains the ball during its series until it scores or fails to make a first down.
If the score remains tied after the first overtime period, a second overtime period will be played.
If the score remains tied after two overtime periods, then beginning with the third overtime period,
teams scoring touchdowns must attempt a two-point conversion.
The game is over when one team has more points after a completed overtime period.
