Dear Parents / Carers

Year 1 Visit to Shildon National Railway Museum Friday 12th December
We have planned an exciting trip for our Year 1 children to visit Shildon Railway Museum
to close our topic this term based on George Stephensons The Rocket.
This visit will be very different to our initial visit to the museum in October.
As part of the visit there will be a story telling session, a craft activity and then the
more important, exciting chance to meet Santa and receive a gift each from him.
The visit will be a whole day trip and school will pay for the cost of the transport with
the support of our PTA, Friends of Ingleby Mill.
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of 6 per child to cover the Museum Santa
Package (which is a reduced fee due to our larger numbers). Should we not receive
enough contributions, then we may be unable to go ahead with this visit.
Those children who have a school dinner will be provided with a packed lunch on the day.
Children who normally bring a packed lunch each day need to do so as normal.
As part of our visit last time, we made a walk to the older heritage site but this time we
will be based all day in the museum.
If you hold an up to date DBS (formerly CRB) certificate and are able to offer your help
on the day please speak to your childs teacher.
Many thanks for your support and co-operation
Yours faithfully
