The countrys name is Spain. The capitol of
Spain is Madrid.

GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES OF
SPAIN
Spain is the third largest country in Europe
and 45% is covered by Meseta Plateau.
Significant mountains in Spain include the
limestone Cordillera Cantabrica and rugged
Sistema Iberico, the deeply eroded and
rocky Sierra de Cuenca and the lower
Montes de Toledo and Serra.

WEATHER IN SPAIN
The weather in Spain is extremely varied.
The northern coastal regions are cool and
humid. The central plateau is cold in the
winter and hot in the summer

Spain population in 2013 was 46,507,760
which represents a decrease of 220,130
people compared to 2012. The female
population is greater, with 23,633,605
women, representing 50.81% of the total,
compared to 22,874,155 or 49.18%.

Spain currency is Euro as it is located in
southern portion of Europe. Being a part of
the European Union and the Euro zone,
Spain adopted the common European
Currency in the year 2002.

making its economy the 49th freest in the
2014 index. Its score is 0.8 lower than last
year due to declines in the management of
government spending, business freedom,
and labor freedom that outweigh small

Enrique Iglesias was born on May 8, 1975.
He became known for singing the #1 hit Be
with You in 2000 and Hero in 2001. He
has sold over 100 million records.

Madrid is a popular place tourists go with
its museums. The Sagrada Familia is a large
Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, and
one of Spains most visited tourist
attractions. Its a design by Antoni Gaudi
who worked on this project for more than
40 years until his death in 1926.

TYPICAL FOODS IN SPAIN


One typical food is paella. It is a rice dish
prepared with seaford. Of all the foods in
Spain, this is the most popular. In this dish,
savory yellow rice is combined with
tomatoes, onions, peas, shellfish, squid,
clams and chicken drumsticks. Another dish

compulsory from the ages 6 to 16.The
school year is divided into three terms with
a long summer holiday break of almost
three months. There are winter, spring,
and summer term.

Spains climate is extremely varied. That


means it is not only temperature. In the
summer it gets hot and the winter it gets
cold. This affects residents because some
people move to warmer places in the
winter because they cant stand the cold.

Why do you think this country has the clothing, food,


customs it has? What are the contributing factors?

Spain is a country that has one of the most


unique things especially their food and
clothes. They have unique foods like paella
which contains a lot of food in it. Their
clothing influence the world and it was
known for its elegance and decoration.

What are the similarities and differences between


schools in this country and the US? Why do you that is?

Well they both teach the language Spanish


and English. They both also let u study the
same courses. The differences are in Spain,
the students dont move room to room,
the teachers do. In the US, it is the
opposite. In Spain, they dont eat lunch at
school. They go home and eat. In US, it is

What is your opinion of this country now that you know


more about it? Would you vacation there or even live
there? Why or why not?

I would love to visit Spain one day with my


family. I wont live there but I will take a
vacation there with my family to see their
culture, custom and their unique food and
drinks.
