1. The main of objective of the first assignment is to understand a Boost Converter Characteristic in the
circuit Fig.1 using PSIM.

In a Boost Converter, L=50 H. It is operating in a DC steady state under following conditions: Vin=12V,
D=0.4, Po=30W, and fs=200kHz. Assume ideal components.(C=40F)
Refer to 3-8 problem in the textbook.
(a) Calculate and draw the waveforms as shown in Fig. 3-8c in the textbook. (20pts)

(b) Simulate this boost converter up to 0.05sec. Measure the inductor voltage, the inductor current, the
capacitor current, the diode currents, and the output voltage.(Just show each waveform for the twoperiod of the switching time during the steady state conditions) (10pts)
