Notes
ITEM NEEDED

We are working on number scrolls in the next month and each student
will need an empty paper towel roll. Please send in an extra paper
towel rolls this week. We only need about 12 more paper towel rolls!

Curriculum Corner
Language Arts
Reading: Students are still working on thinking and talking about books to
grow ideas. Students are working on sticky notes to jot down their
thinking. STUDENTS SHOULD BE COLLECTING 2 STICKY NOTES
EACH EVENING. This week I have attached a Sticky Note Sentence
Starter paper to help with sticky note homework.

Writing: We are continuing to work on opinion writing. Students are


learning that opinion writers state an opinion, give lots of reasons, use
details, use sparkly words, and expect disagreement. STUDENTS ALSO
HAVE MLK HOMEWORK THIS WEEK.

Math
We are continuing Unit 5 in math. This unit focuses on place value and
comparisons. This week we will spend time using comparison symbols,
measuring, and adding/subtracting 2-digit numbers.
