We all know that we celebrate Linggo ng
Wika once a year especially being part of
this event I can say that this years Linggo
ng Wika was the best. Different levels
(Grade 7-10) prepared a performance for the
Culminating Activity. You can see in their
performance that they really prepared for it
especially the Grade 9 students (including
me). Grade 9 students performed a mash-up
songs wherein all the makabayan tagalog
songs are in there like the song Pinoy ako ,
Bandila ,The apple song and more.
Why do we celebrate Linggo ng Wika? In
the Philippines, the month of August is
designated as Buwan ng Wika. Instead of
Buwan ng Wika it was previously called
Linggo ng Wika (the week of the Philippine
language) which is celebrated to promote the
national language.
As a student, we are all required to wear
traditional native costumes (e.g Filipiiana,
Barong, Magsasaka, Barot saya and etc.) as
well as the teachers that will add value to the
Filipino language and culture.

There
are
many accounts
of
the
importance and significance of Buwan ng
Wika or Linggo ng Wika , but including the
remembrance of the countrys struggle for
freedom and the influence of its culture,
helps to intensify the pride of the people of
the Philippines.
