Construc)on of magazine front cover:

When rst star+ng the construc+on for

my magazine, I have created the mast-
head on DaFont. I opened it in Photo-
shop and now I am using the ll tool to
change the colour of the text to suit my
genre. Also, Ive included a white out-
line and a drop shadow of black to
make it stand out more, as these are 2
colours that my target audience said
they expected to see in a music maga-
zine.

I then added an image to my front cov-

er which showed the ar+st who will
feature in my double page spread
through a mid shot.

Once I had the posi+oning of my main

image and masthead, I added in the
barcode, the issue number, the price of
my magazine and a cover mount which
runs across the boHom of the page.

The rst cover line is discussing music

reviews, which is what the target audi-
ence of my magazine said they like to
see in a magazine so I thought this
would be a good thing to include on my
front cover so that it is more likely to
aHract readers. In this screenshot, it
can can also be seen that I have decid-
ed to place the date and the magazines
website underneath the masthead. I
changed the posi+oning of this as I felt
that it was too crowded in the boHom
right hand corner of the page.

The main cover line has now been

added to my front cover. I have decided
to change the posi+oning of the main
cover line, so it would not cover the sub-
ject of my image.

Here I decided to include a list of ar+sts

that are going to be in my magazine to
aHract the target audience, as they are
likely to know most of these popular
ar+sts.

As there was some empty space on the

front cover, I decided to add in a pu
that ts in with the genre of the maga-
zine and in a style that ts into the
colour scheme.
