GROUP GAMES: TENNIS

Topic: Introduction to the Tennis Serve
Duration of Lesson:1 hour
Learning Objective: The objective of this lesson is to introduce beginning tennis players to
the basics of the tennis serve including the positioning, grip, and ball toss
Previous knowledge:student know equipment in tennis games

Equipment: Tennis courts, tennis racquets, and tennis balls , cones for targets, laptop, LCD
projector and screen

baseline (inform students that
when serving, they would
stand to the right of the center
mark)

the baseline

practice the chopper grip for
the tennis serve:

will place the V created by the
thumb and forefinger to the
left of the top of the grip
