1. THESIS STATEMENT

Present the projects argument or interpretation in two sentences. If you are using the NHD theme, you might want to make it
evident in your thesis statement.

My project is about Eliot Ness who was well known in Chicago for taking down Al Capone.

2. SUMMARY OF PROJECT

Briefly explain your project and its conclusion. Include: How and why did change happen and what was the impact? Why is
it historically significant? What historical meaning or importance can we learn from your findings?

My project focuses on what made Eliot Ness a good leader and the legacy he left behind.
Ness showed leadership by being the man who took down the most feared bootlegger of the
prohibition era. Ness used skills that he learned during his early years of the prohibition era. Ness
also showed leadership by gathering enough evidence to get Al Capone arrested for tax evasion. I
gathered primary sources to prove my points.

Explain how this project integrates the NHD theme Leadership & Legacy in [Chicago/Illinois] History into its argument.

My project integrates the theme of leadership and legacy by showing that Eliot Ness was a good leader and left a legacy.

your research?
How did Eliot Ness show leadership and legacy?
