Objectives
This real-time digital simulator based training course provides working knowledge of
operation and maintenance of SHP plants. This course also focuses on gates & valves,
turbine, generator & auxiliaries and turbine generator control of SHP plants. Trainees
shall be exposed with various operating scenarios with care on safety and incident free
working of the plants.

General:

Types of hydro power plant and their layout

Oil pressure unit working

Generator bearing working / monitoring

Speed increaser working monitoring

Turbine bearing cooling water arrangement

Butter fly valves, turbine oiling greasing

Plant day today shift work

Plant safety and fire-fighting

Plant control room operation from hard panel:

Plant panel metering, indicating, operating switches and annunciator

Plant start-up and synchronizing procedure

Plant load pick up and drop

Plant normal, special and emergency shutdown

Plant equipment condition monitoring
