Convention is a flagship event for our organization and offers the highest level of visibility into the

inner-workings of the National Board for undergraduate and alumnae members. As your Programming Director,
I plan to continue to elevate your experience at any nationally hosted events by providing opportunities to
celebrate sisterhood while providing an educational experience that encourages best practice sharing across
sisterships at the lowest cost possible to both attendees and Nationals. Since graduating, I have worked eventplanning for two Fortune 500 companies. I have led the planning and execution for several 200-person events
outside of Sigma and received internal awards for that leadership. I also coordinated the negotiation for hotels
for this years Convention, cutting down the hotel rate from $300/night to $219/night and removing attrition fees.
I also created the hotel package program and pushed Nationals to create a budget that allows attending sisters
to pay an even lower rate by subsidizing part of the hotel costs to keep Convention as affordable as possible. I
negotiated proposals of $30,000 hotel costs and cut it by more than 50%. For rallies, I created an M.O.
consistent across the regions that simplified the planning process for the undergraduate event coordinators.
