The Killer in Me

Prologue:
Description: Lights go up and Brian is asleep. On the other side of the stage is his
younger counterpart and flashback begins. His younger self around 15 is home alone, sick. The
phone rings, he answers the phone unaware of what is happening. The audience can hear his
parents voices.

Parados:
Description: Lights go up. A worker in the twin towers is covered in ash, standing side
by side with a Firefighter who also died trying to save people. (angel/ devil relationship)
Lights go down

Scene 1:
Description:
Lights go up. Chorus ghosts stand on either side of the stage. Amir is sitting on a park
bench center stage. Brian sits next to Amir and makes small talk.
Brian walks off stage, then quickly comes back on. He slyly walks behind the bench and
puts a cloth with chloroform over his mouth. Amir struggles before passing out. Brian Pulls
him off stage. Lights go down.
Lights come back up to Brian walking in circles around Amir who is sitting on the floor. Amir
has his hands tied behind his back.

Chorus 1:
Description:
The two ghosts are on either side of the stage in a standoff like in an old western movie.
They circle one another while talking.
Ghosts look at each other angrily then exit the stage quickly

Scene 2:
Description:
Brian turns the tv onto the news, the reporter is talking about the disappearance of Amir
and that the police are closing in on the kidnapper. ( Screen facing upstage and person standing
offstage talking into mic)
Brains stance ridged. Brian and Amir are in a standoff. Each wishing the other would
back down.
Brian Starts pacing downstage, thinking of what his next move should be.

Chorus 2:
Description:
Brain starts to look towards reason and Vengeful gets angry.
Peacefull is center stage, Vengeful is slowly circling him, staring him down like a vulture.
Vengeful stops circling when on the opposite side of the stage. They both stare the other
down.
They look at one another with hatred, cross one another then walk off opposite sides of
stage.

Scene 3:
Description: Brain creates a plan to escape but Amir questions Brians plan. Brian just needs
Amir to corporate just a little longer.
Chorus 3:
Description: The scene freezes. The two ghosts come in on either side of the stage. They
Narrate the scene.
Brian looks out the window and sees the get away car and the police
Brian grabs a gun and Amirs arm and runs off stage.
Both Vengeful and Peaceful worry for Brian
Scene 4:
Description:
(Brian and Amir are off stage but the audience can hear them talking)

Brian shuffling Amir across the stage with a gun held to his head. Two police officers come on
stage after him, guns raised. Brian backs up, away from the officers, slowly. Amir still in tow,
terrified. In the process of Brian backing up, he trips and falls backwards. The gun goes off, the
scene freezes and the stage goes black.
Chorus 4:
Description:
Lights come up on the scene, still frozen except for Peaceful and Vengeful are on either side of
the stage.
Vengeful rejoices that Brian had his revenge but Peaceful believes it was an accident
Peaceful and Vengeful arguing from either side of the stage, both full of emotion.
Lights go down

Exodus:
Description:
Lights come back up, the chorus members have exited the stage. The scene unfreezes.
Brian takes a moment and starts to sit up and look around himself, in a daze. He looks down at
Aimr and begins attempting to wake him up by shaking him. Amir is limp.
Brian notices all of the blood and starts to put two and two together
The police have been watching Brian with calculated actions. They almost creep up on
Brian, forcefully putting his hands behind his back. Brian doesn't try to struggle. He is already
defeated.
One officer begins to escort Brian off stage, leaving the other with Amir.
The second police officer checks Amirs pulse before shaking his head, then deeply sighing.
Lights go down

Resolution:
Description:

The lights come back up and the ghosts talk about how revenge should not drive your actions.
You need to forgive, but not forget
Lights go off
END.
