C & I Tag Numbering System:

To identify every control and instrumentation items in
the plant uniquely, tag numbering system shall be used. The plant
consists of two phases namely Phase-I and Phase-II. First phase
shall have two units namely Unit-1 and Unit-2. The second phase
is considered as part of the future expansion.
The tag numbering system to be adopted for Control &
Instrumentation items shall be as given below:

Instrument Type (TE, TT, TIC, TI etc.., as

per ISA codes)

In general, the tag numbering should start in sequence as

per the process flow directions for each type of instruments (PT,
PG, TT, TI etc).
For closed loops, all sensing devices (PT, FT, TT, LT) with its
controller (PIC, FIC, TIC, LIC) and its final control element should
be represented with the instrument serial number.
The same numbering system will be adopted for local
Instruments (PG, TG and LG) and analytical Instruments also.
Example:
Dual redundant level transmitter at Cold water fore bay of phase-1
common for both unit-1 & 2 will be tagged as:
10LT10001A, 10LT10001B
