Wenjing Guan Horticultural Specialist, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
Developing an applied research program in sustainable
vegetable and melon crop production Wenjing Guan received her Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from the University of Florida in August, 2014. She is currently working as a Horticultural specialist for the cooperative extension program at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Dr. Guans research interest is on sustainable and organic vegetable and melon production. She conducted her Ph.D. dissertation research on melon grafting, with specific focuses on disease management, fruit quality, and grafting methods. Her research projects at North Carolina A&T State University are focusing on high tunnel and organic vegetable and strawberry production. In this presentation, she will introduce her previous research findings and present her versions for developing an applied research program in specialty crop production at Purdue University.
