A) Concept Explored: Geometric and Binomial Distribution

B) Initial thoughts: The easy part is plugging in numbers.
After you determine whether its geometric or binomial
distribution, its just plug and chug. The trickier part is
differentiating which one is which. I was confusing them for
each other since they are somewhat similar.
C) Connection to past material: Yes we are seeing
probability and inequalities.
D) How I attempted to correct the concept: When we did
the Special discrete densities Quiz, thats when my
misconceptions were eliminated. Dr. Wagler saw most of us
where struggling so she asked us to write on the back the
difference between the two in our own words. The first
question was geometric so I wrote in my own words what it
was. The second question was binomial and I did the same
thing.

E) Level of Confidence: 5
F) Final definition/description of concept: Geometric is the
number of trials until your first success. You count an infinite
amount of trials until you reach your first success. Binomial
distribution is a set number of trials and you count how
many successes within that set. You are given a set number
of trials and you count how many successes are within that
given set.
